From the recording Magic Highway
The song was first written about a real 'boy goes bad' incident.
The first verse I added recently to show how my view of theworld has become politically oriented toward the tragic plight the disenfranchised victims.
I feel this is what the song was always meant to be.
Lyrics
We were born inside a bubble where everything was good
We never knew about the troubles, 'never understood
Then with the unions busted and jobs run out of town
And everyone we thought we trusted finally let us down
Ride your magic highway you know no one can see you
So ride...
All the days I've been without were spent confused and in doubt
Tears and laughter helped me some, never told me what I've become
Just listen to your teachers they have so much to give
Don't believe back ally creatures that ain't no way to live
Ride your magic highway you know no one can see you
So ride...
Sleeping in the park tonight where els3 have I to stay
As the sun brings it's last beam of light close my eyes with worries gone away
Ride your magic highway you know no one can see you
So ride...
I know that we can be strong I know that we can't be wrong
So we'll fly 'cause were free
